Hosted in an atmospheric church in the heart of Notting Hill, the opening ceremony will feature a duet performance Circe by Klaudia Wittmann and Anna Beatriz Meireless. Circe, a piece where partner work takes centre stage, features two female contemporary dancers whose individual movement voices complement each other. Referring to Nietzsche's view on truth as a starting point, Circe is defined by the quest for an understanding of truth and dishonesty, an attempt to approximate mankind's animal nature and the civilization as antagonistic worlds. The dancers face the challenges of incompatibility while coexisting and interacting.
A new show ‘Tell Michele A Secret’ by Michelle Moran will explore the concept of secrets in their depth and individuality through a theatre performance.
The evening will also feature the musical performances by Latvian musician Raivis Misjuns, Latvian composer and musician Platon Buravicky and London based The Violet Hum collective.
